Evgenia Papazisi

Evgenia Papazisi is an artist, filmmaker, and performer from Athens, working in the grey zone between love and death. Contrast is the foundation of her practice: the trashy set against the sublime, life against decay, asking what is left of life when emotional utopias reveal their impossibility. Under patriarchal, capitalist systems that reward us for being alone and for pursuing completion, she explores the importance of community, the urgency of confronting the climate catastrophe, and the need to redefine our connection to nature.

Her work Hard Shell was selected for the Berlin Indie Film Festival, while her film Meltdown was selected for the Drama International Short Film Festival, where it received the Screenplay Award. Meltdown will also be screened at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival.

She is completing an MA in Performance: Screen at Central Saint Martins, following an MA in Creative Film Production at Catalyst and a BA in English and Drama at Queen Mary University of London, where she focused on stage directing and performance art.
